The largest olive tree in Italy - and possibly the world (e forse il mondo) with cat. (photo by my dad)

Comments:
The largest olive tree must have the largest olives (not sure if that's good or bad.) Just started skimming your blog.
Thanks for the really, really nice comment on mine. (I answered some idiot's question on how I can hate Bush and care about the elderly at the same time.) Thanks again.

thanks for stopping by. as for the olives, i can't say, but my dad did mention that when he was at the biggest olive tree (which they claim is 1600 years old from carbon dating) they told him that they had recently changed their watering and fertilizing practices to emphasize the health of the tree rather than production of olives and oil.

"God is the light of the heavens and the earth. His light is like a niche with a lamp in it. The lamp is in a glass. The glass is like a shining star, fueled by a blessed olive tree neither of the east nor west. Its oil seems to give forth light without any fire having touched it." [The Qur'an, Surat al-Nur]

Unfortunately, though, cats are mentioned neither in the Qur'an nor in the Bible.

nowhere? it's enough to make one question her/his faith.

On the other hand, this reaffirms my faith in cats...
